SEVEN BOMBERS MAKE REP SIDE
Friday, 10 June 2005
With the main competition having a weekend off, the Sydney AFL's attention turns to representative football with this weekends representative game between the Sydney AFL vs Southern NSW AFL.
Seven of North Shore's players have made the final side with Mark Livy, Tom Hill, Jarrod Crosby, Matthew Parker, Mark Bajcic, Marc Lord and Dean Davies all selected to play this Saturday night. Please find below a short, light hearted profile of each player.
Mark "Banga" Livy (no 8)
North Shore captain and regular Sydney AFL representative and NSW State Player. One of four Sydney AFL players to represent NSW in the Australian Country Championships. A strongly built centre half back and former Swans rookie list player. Build like a brick s&%house.
Tom "The Maestro" Hill (no 14)
Third in the 2004 Phelan Medal, North Shore's senior best and fairest in 2004, Tom is in every sense "The Maestro". Whether he is in the middle or up forward, Tom just has that touch of class, that uncanny ability to dance and weave in the middle of the pack and get out of trouble to provide a clear possession. A combination of James Hird and Robert Harvey, he is all class this kid.
Jarrod "Connoisseur" Crosby (no 1)
Experienced on baller and North Shore vice captain. Like Mark Livy a regular representative player and like Grange just seems to be getting better with age. Better known around the club for his knowledge and collection of fine wines.
Matthew "Big Brother" Parker (no 7)
What can we say, this kid has it all. Member of North Shore's team of the century, life member, former captain and has to be a chance for Cleo Bachelor of the Year in 2005. A high flying corporate type who seems to have been playing at North Shore since he was out of diapers. A quality bloke, and could be a revelation at full forward on Saturday night.
Mark "Majic" Bajcic (no 17)
Our resident trainee Chiropractor who moonlights as a class half back flanker on weekends. This guy is just special to watch. Floating across half back with the grace of Rudolf Nureyev in Swan Lake, Mark just seems to have all the time in the world.
Marc "Stinky" Lord (no 3)
One of the "terrible two" at North Shore who has come along in leaps and bounds in 2005. At 19 years of age and starting in the centre in his first appearance in a Sydney Rep Side, Marc has been outstanding this year. After two shoulder reconstructions, this kid has to potential to go the next step. Look out for his attack on the football and his ability to get out of trouble.
Dean "Hollywood" Davies (no 11)
The other half of the "terrible two". Also 19 years old, Hollywood has been a standout rover in the competition this year. With three best on ground performances for North Shore in the first 9 rounds, Hollywood is another who has the potential to take the next step. He's like a gazelle as he floats across the ground, attacking the ball at ground level and delivering the ball in true Hollywood style.
