2015 was a year when Brent Stanton demonstrated just why he is rated so highly around the Club. The veteran stood up when the team needed him the most, playing in whatever position the coaches required and giving a huge effort each time. On several occasions throughout the season Stanton collected 30 disposals or more and showed an ability to have an impact on the scoreboard. The 29-year-old was ranked number two for disposals at the Club and was one of the top ranked players for metres gained in the competition.

Season by Season

Season by Season

Runner-up spot in the Bombers' best and fairest was reward for a brilliant second half of the year after the hard-running midfielder had a slow start to the season playing through the pain of a cracked shoulder blade. The 25-year-old led the club in kicks (343) and handballs received (217) and was in the top five for marks, handballs, inside 50s, rebound 50s and loose-ball gets. Into his ninth AFL season and in Essendon’s leadership group, Stanton is an essential part of the Bombers’ midfield.

Season By Season

The senior midfielder played every game last season and enjoyed another consistent year. It was probably without the same number of dominant games as recent times, but Stanton again placed in
the top 10 at the best and fairest. He led the Bombers for kicks, was second for marks and was in the top five for handballs, tackles and inside-50 entries.
