Already known for his habit of producing match-winning moments, Zaharakis once again provided yet another year of great memories for Bomber fans, with no better performance than his 34-disposal, four-goal performance on ANZAC Day 2013, earning him his first ANZAC Day medal. Zaharakis was in career-best form for two-thirds of the season, before a heavy knock in the back against the Bulldogs resulted in a quieter finish to the year. Possessing dash, slick disposal and an eye for goal, Zaharakis looks to be an integral part of Essendon’s fortunes going forward. In 2011 Zaharakis became the youngest winner of Essendon's best and fairest since Neale Daniher in 1981, illustrating his rapid improvement in only his third AFL season. He has re-signed with the Club until the end of the 2017 season.
