Michael Hibberd provided important rebound from the Essendon defensive half in 2015.  In his 21 games he recorded more than 20 possessions on 16 occasions.  Now entering his sixth season, Hibberd is an important member of the Essendon backline.  He has played at least 19 games in each of the last three seasons.

Season By Season

Season By Season

Hibberd started the season in All-Australian form, becoming one of the most damaging half-backs in the AFL. His piercing left foot combined with his courageous exploits in the air made him hard to stop. Hibberd's hard edge at the contest and fearless attack at the contest are well respected at the club. He led the Bombers in rebound 50s (fourth overall in the competition) and became an important cog in setting up the play for Essendon.

Season By Season

Hibberd remains one of Essendon's most important players, evident in his new three year deal with the club through to the end of 2017. The attacking half-back creates plenty of play hile also shutting down his opponent. Courageous, tough and talented in the air, Hibberd has become an integral member of Essendon's defence. He finished fourth in the best and fairest, despite ankle and hamstring injuries affecting the back end of his year.
