Put an injury interrupted 2009 behind him to stamp himself as one of the best ruckmen in the AFL in 2010. He used his imposing frame to win 643 hit-outs, a figure bettered ny only Fremantle giant Aaron Sandilands (732).
Jamar led the demons in contested marks and didn't mind drifting forward to be a marking target. Crowne a stellar season by winning a spot on the interchange bench in the All-Australian side and was third in the best and fairest 2010.

Season by Season

Made a late start for the Demons in 2014 due to soft-tissue injuries, but showed he had what it takes to match the game's best ruckmen when he returned in round six. His form mirrored that of his team for most of the season, with the experienced Jamar getting close to his best in the first half of the season before tapering off.

Season by Season

A disappointing season for Jamar in the end as a calf injury derailed him just when he was running into form. Jamar is a good tap ruckman with strong leadership skills.

Season by Season

The big man only managed five games for the Demons in 2015 with coaches choosing to go with Max Gawn as their number one ruck choice. Jamar demonstrated great form for Casey in the VFL playing 16 games and tying for the Best and Fairest medal.
He was not offered a contract extension at the end of the year, drawing a curtain on his 14 year career at Melbourne.

Season by Season

The big man had an average season in 2013, a year that ended on a disappoininting note when he suffered bone stress in a toe. He lacked midfield support, his confidence dropped and he was unable to lift as the side struggled.

Hailing from South Australia, Mark Jamar enjoyed 14 seasons with the Melbourne Demons before leaving the game at the end of the 2015 season. A big bodied ruckman, Jamar is a reliable ruck option who - at his best, is on par with other elite talls in the competition. His experience and tap work will be vital in giving Essendon's young midfield first use of the ball.
