The Stealthbomber

Two soft-tissue complaints restricted the smart and tough defender to 13 games in his second AFL season. A hamstring tear on ANZAC Day saw him miss six games, and only three weeks after returning, he hurt his quad against Port Adelaide in round 16. Nevertheless, Hibberd's aerial ability and capacity to read the game makes him a certain starter for the Bombers when fit. Signed a two-year contract extension in July.

Injury kept the mature-age recruit from making his AFL debut until round six after a promising NAB Cup campaign. In his next eight matches, Hibberd showed he has the ability to have a long AFL career as a tight defender capable of winning the ball and using it effectively. Missed the last six games due to a club suspension for an off-field incident.
