Nathan Lovett-Murray has become Essendon’s strategic substitute. His experience, physicality and versatility have strongly impacted the side when the 29-year-old’s green vest came off during the season. Racking up 17 games in 2012, Lovett-Murray again asserted his physical prowess on the field throughout the year. Affected by the club’s soft-tissue injury bout with calf and hamstring injuries, Lovett-Murray will be raring to go ahead of the club’s upcoming pre-season campaign.

Lovett-Murray’s physicality, versatility and leadership skill is valued at the club, where he will mostly be used as a strong midfielder in 2012. The senior utility played the first 11 games of last season before a calf injury at training curtailed his year. He missed nine weeks with the injury before returning for Essendon’s final three matches.
