After suffering from injury setbacks over the past few seasons, 2013 ended with optimism for Pears as he began to become a regular fixture in the senior team, playing 14 games for the season, including nine of the last 11 games. Pears‘ versatility as a defender provided the coaching staff with many options, playing on a range of forwards of varying sizes and styles. It’s this versatility Pears will need to provide in 2014 if he is to cement his spot in the senior side.
