player profile

2010 Preview

Essendon’s move to bolster its midfield stocks with the recruitment of the former Cat appears set to pay dividends, with Prismall managing a career-high 13 games last season despite an interrupted preparation due to his knee reconstruction. The club believes Prismall’s output of 23 possessions a game will only improve and is excited about his prospects in 2010 and beyond.

Career Profile

Former Geelong player Brent Prismall spent 2009 pre-season working hard to recover from a knee reconstruction as a result of an injury he endured while playing for the Cats in the Qualifiying Final in 2008. The injury also destroyed any chance of him playing in the 2008 grand final. Prismall made his Geelong debut in 2006 and played 25 games for the Cats before his injury.

He was traded to Essendon in 2008 and made his Bombers' debut in rd 11 against Adelaide and played every game thereafter to finish with 13 games for the season. He is seen as a classy player with good leadership potential.

Prismall played 13 games in 2009 and 15 in 2020, including his 50th AFL game in round 18 when Essendon beat St Kilda for the second time that year.
