As a West Australian U18 representative and AIS/AFL Academy graduate in 2006, Essendon is confident there is plenty of scope for more improvement in him. Reimers was chosen at 17 years of age, he has had an excellent start to his career. He debuted against Fremantle in Round 19, 2007. He played an exciting 15 games in 2008, but had an injury-disrupted 2009 pre-season and season, and managed only nine games. Reimers had an interrupted first half of the 2010 season, but returned in round 14 and played the final nine games.
