Star Bomber Michael Hurley has helped celebrate a mightily generous donation from a young and passionate Essendon Junior Club Member.

Eleven-year-old member Oliver Pittard rallied around club charity partner Boots For All, donating more than 70 pairs of boots to the organisation this week.

The youngster worked tirelessly throughout September at his local club Redan Juniors and presented to over 500 students from Ballarat Grammar to gather donations, and this week delivered the boots to The Hangar.

Hurley was on hand to meet Oliver and receive the donation on behalf of the club and Boots For All, with all of the items now ready to be distributed to those in need.

The defender also showed the young Bomber around the club’s elite facilities to thank him for his inspiring generosity.

Club Community Programs Manager Bernard Shepheard said it was great to see Essendon’s relationship with its charity partner create new support networks.

“It’s fantastic that the club’s connection with Boots For All was able to inspire Oliver towards collecting and donating the boots,” Shepheard said.

“We were really pleased to receive his donation on behalf of Boots For All and introduce him to one of his Essendon heroes.”
