Essendon VFL will take to the MCG on Sunday in a curtain raiser to the Country Game, with Bomber fans encouraged to get to the ground early.

The top-of-the-table VFL Bombers will face Geelong from 11:50am, before the two clubs' AFL sides go head-to-head at 3:20pm.

Despite Sunday's VFL game being listed as a home fixture, only Essendon members with away access will be granted entry.

Those who hold a ticket for the Country Game can also scan in for the curtain raiser.

Gates open at 11am, with the Powercor Country Festival Farmers' market also commencing at the same time in the Yarra Park precinct.
