Dazzling Essendon forward Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti has added to his list of accolades from the Bombers’ win over North Melbourne by sharing the top of the coaches’ votes.

McDonald-Tipungwuti was the star of the show in the five-point win at Marvel Stadium on Saturday, claiming 19 disposals, 10 score involvements, four goals and a career-high 12 contested possessions.

Two of the outstanding goals have also been nominated for the Coates Hire Goal of the Year and McDonald-Tipungwuti was rewarded with nine votes from the two senior coaches.

A trio of his teammates shared the remainder of Essendon’s spoils in the votes, with Zach Merrett, Jake Stringer and Conor McKenna receiving three votes apiece.

Merrett was influential as a genuine ball magnet again with 37 disposals, 17 contested possessions, seven clearances, seven intercept possessions, six score involvements six tackles, five inside 50s and a goal assist.
