Essendon VFLW pair Georgia Nanscawen and Cecilia McIntosh have been acknowledged at the VFL Best and Fairest Night for their outstanding maiden seasons in the red and black.

Nanscawen was fittingly rewarded for a prolific 2019, named in the centre of the VFL Women’s Team of the Year - her first-ever selection in the team.

The star midfielder was a standout in the competition, averaging 17 disposals and seven tackles in her 13 matches.

The 27-year-old is the only Bomber to feature in this year’s 24-woman team.

Cecilia McIntosh capped off a remarkable season for the Bombers, finishing in third place for the Lambert-Pearce Medal, awarded to the league's best-and-fairest player.

The former Collingwood AFLW star finished the count on 14 votes, behind runner-up Monique Conti (16) and winner Lauren Pearce (18).

McIntosh last night became the first Bomber to claim a podium finish for the league’s highest individual honour.

The 40-year-old asserted herself as one of the competition’s most relentless midfielders, averaging 10 disposals and two tackles, while also kicking three goals across her 12 appearances.
