Deadly Yarns | Lachie Johnson
Lachlan Johnson (Gunditjmara); Essendon recruit, midfielder number 36, talks all…
Next Generation Academy member swept up with the club’s final pick in the 2019 NAB AFL National Draft.
A tough and courageous player, Johnson is the son of three-time Brisbane premiership defender Chris Johnson, who shares his father’s notoriously competitive spirit.
An ACL injury suffered last year kept the draftee on the sidelines in 2020, but his efforts for Oakleigh Chargers prior to the injury – averaging 15.2 disposals, seven contested possessions and 7.2 tackles per game – showed there is plenty to look forward to in 2021 and beyond.
