People & Culture

At the Bombers we are looking for employees who have outstanding abilities and specialised experiences, with a hunger to grow and develop. Equally important is a passion for your area of expertise and a connection with our company culture and values.

Because at the Bombers, our People don’t just come here to work, they come here to be part of something bigger, and they come here to be extraordinary.

We’re unapologetically bold, and our values are more than just words on a wall. They underpin everything we do, and they will be a fundamental part of our selection criteria.

Culture of belonging

We recruit a diverse group of people who bring new ideas, new ways of thinking and values that make the Essendon FC a successful and welcoming organisation. We’re all different, and we celebrate our differences. Not only do they make us better, they help us make a positive change in peoples’ lives.

Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’ll take any opportunity to show our people we care and that everyone belongs at the Club. We believe in encouraging our team to be their authentic selves each day and we work hard to create a culture centred around belonging, inclusivity, and community.

Research shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often don’t apply for roles if they don’t think they meet all the criteria. We strongly encourage you to apply if you’re interested.

Keeping you well

We believe in our people, so making a positive difference in their lives is a given for us. When you join our Club, we’ll be here to support you in being the healthiest version of yourself. Just as you deserve.

We get it, wellness means something different to everyone. So, we’ll meet you wherever you are on your own wellness journey. We’ll promote an inclusive environment that lets you connect with your definition of wellness.

By thinking holistically, we’ll lift you up, encourage you to grow, and give you space to invest in your wellness and development needs. If you want to get moving again, or need some emotional support or advice? Converge our Wellbeing provider will be here to support you. Think mental health support, financial planning, parental support programs and more.

Not only do we have Converge, but we have the following wellbeing options in place to support you as a whole person, 24/7:

  • Annual Flu vaccinations
  • Access to the Club gymnasium
  • Weekly Pilates sessions with a qualified trainer; and
  • Other activities that we dream up from time to time!
  • Mental Health First Aid Training

Developing you

What’s important to us is what you’ll do, not what you’ve done. We’re all about unlocking your potential and will love seeing you grow. We strive to create opportunities for our people, because we know our future leaders are already amongst us.

So, when you’re here, we encourage you to surround yourself with people you’ll learn from. Keep putting your hand up and jump into anything (and everything) that comes your way.

We won’t give you all the answers, but we will help you find them, because knowledge will only help enhance your performance. Not just performance at work, but in everything you do. Whether you’re your career goals or your life goals, we’re invested in them. And we’re invested in you, your development, your career and your future.

We’re committed to the Safety & Wellbeing of Children and Young People

We are committed to providing an environment and culture that is caring and safe for all children and young people in our care through a wide variety of sporting, cultural and educational activities, events, services and programs.

We want children and young people to feel safe, supported, respected and encouraged to reach their full potential, and only recruit people who, regardless of their role, will support such an environment.

All employment positions will be subject to pre-employment checks, including a Working with Children Check.  We also require our EFC People to undertake training to ensure everyone understand the important role they play in safeguarding children and young people.
