Essendon’s VFLW side have emphatically entered its maiden Grand Final after a stunning 67-point win over Casey Demons in the second semi-final.

The Bombers ran out convincing 11.10 (76) to 1.3 (9) winners at Windy Hill.

The equation was simple for senior coach Brendan Major’s side, win and they’re into the side’s first-ever decider.

After a tight first quarter, where the margin was only four points at the initial break, Essendon went ballistic and kicked six unanswered goals to head into half-time 43 points up.

The second half was much of the same, with the Bombers scoring four goals to one, coasting into the Grand Final.

Joanne Doonan and Frederica Frew were unstoppable up forward, kicking three goals apiece and setting the tone for the onslaught.

Georgia Nanscawen (25 disposals), Amelia Radford (22 disposals) and Alana Barba (21 disposals) were industrious all day in getting first use on the ball.

Eloise Ashley-Cooper was a rock in defence, taking seven marks in a commanding display, while Simone Nalder was a presence in the ruck with 20 hitouts.

The Bombers will now wait to see who they face in the Grand Final as Casey and the Southern Saints face off in this week’s Preliminary Final.

The 2022 decider will be played on Sunday, June 3 at North Port Oval.
