Emily Gough will miss the 2025 AFLW season after scans confirmed the devastating news of a ruptured ACL.
Gough was subbed out of Saturday's VFLW round two game against Collingwood at Windy Hill after going down in a marking contest.
The impressive 19-year-old recently signed a two-year contract extension with the Bombers, committing to the Club until at least the end of 2027.
“We are all very disappointed for Emily. She has worked extremely hard over the off-season to best prepare for her second season in the AFLW," General Manager - AFLW Aysha Ward said.
“It is a shocking injury for anyone to go through, but Emily has handled it with the utmost professionalism and has received an outpouring of care from her teammates.
"She has an exciting career ahead of her in the red and black and we will continue to rally around her throughout her rehab process."
