The best U/14 talent from the local area descended upon the True Value Solar Centre earlier this week as a feature of the Melbourne Airport-Essendon Football Club annual RDFL/EDFL Junior Talent Camp.

Some of the brightest young prospects from both local leagues were on hand for an intensive two day camp covering the on and off field life of AFL football.

Michael Hurley, David Zaharakis, Heath Hocking and Brent Stanton were among the players that took the players during the camp as they learnt how to train like an AFL star.

In partnership with the Melbourne Airport, Essendon Football Club has a strong partnership with both the Riddell District and Essendon District Junior Football Leagues. The club continues to actively support the development of grassroots football within its traditional heartland of North-West Melbourne.

This year’s Talent Camp provided 40 gifted young players the opportunity to experience insights into life as a professional AFL Footballer and ended with a high standard two-sided match at the True Value Solar Centre.

Held over two days the Talent Camp provided insights into:

- Fitness training

- Football skills and drills

- Game analysis with EFC coaches

- A tour of the club’s facility

- Recruitment/ Goal Setting

- Player welfare session

Essendon Football Club wishes all the junior players in attendance all the best with their footballing futures, which will be undoubtedly bright.
