New Bomber Jake Stringer has been nominated for the Woolworths Mark of the Year after a cracking hanger over Adelaide forward Eddie Betts.

The mark was part of a whirlwind start to Stringer’s career at Essendon after he bustled through a pack to get the club’s first possession of the year before drifting back to take the thrilling grab deep in defence just a minute into the game.

The mark of the week will be determined by public vote and all entrants will go in the running to win $10,000.

Stringer’s two competitors this week are Melbourne’s Bayley Fritsch and Richmond’s Alex Rance.
