Essendon Football Club is exctied to announce that midfielder Marcus Marigliani has been named Captain of the VFL team for season 2015.

Since making his return to the club from Port Melbourne at the end of last season, Marigliani has been a standout leader during the off-season.

Ex-Essendon AFL listed player Kyle Hardingham will serve as Marigliani’s deputy.  The newly appointed Vice Captain will also act as a playing assistant coach, imparting his experience and knowledge of five years in the AFL system.

The leadership group is rounded out with a further six players that include; James Polkinghorne, Daniel Coghlan, Josh Freezer, Jordan Schroder, Sam Tagliabue and Jacob Thompson.  

The Bombers face Sandringham this Sunday at Trevor Barker Oval in round-one action, which– for the first time– will be broadcasted on the exclusive Essendon VFL Live Radio stream. The link will be made available prior to the match.
