Essendon stars Maddy Prespakis and Bonnie Toogood have been named in the 2023 AFLW All Australian squad.

Already a three-time All Australian, Prespakis continued to build on her stellar career in 2023, averaging 26 disposals and five clearances per game as a mainstay in the Bombers’ midfield.

Prespakis recorded 33 disposals during the Bombers’ crucial round six win over the Cats in one of her best performances of the season.

Since joining her childhood club before the 2022 season, Prespakis has added an All-Australian jacket and a club best and fairest to her impressive resume, providing consistency and class to the Bombers’ emerging list.

Toogood exploded for a career-best campaign in 2023, averaging 19 disposals per game and booting 16 goals while leading the competition in total marks (72).

In a season littered with starring performances, Toogood hit the scoreboard in 10 of 11 outings, including an exceptional 20-disposal, two-goal effort against Carlton at Windy Hill in round nine.

The Bombers’ Co-Captain has been a focal point up forward in her two seasons with the club, finishing runner-up in last season’s best and fairest and now looking to add a maiden All Australian selection to her CV.
