Essendon VFLW have won their second match of 2024, taking down the Saints in Saturday's round five clash at the NEC Hangar.

A three goal to none first quarter kick-started the Bombers into action with Bailey Hunt slotting two majors. 

The second quarter saw both teams pepper the goals, the Saints kicking the only goal of the term.

Essendon went into half time with a 15 point lead.

The Saints were the better of the sides in the third quarter with two of the three goals kicked to only trail by eight points at the last break.

The last term remained goal-less with end to end play. The home team held on, running out nine point winners to notch up their second win of the season.

Skipper, Eloise Chaston finished the game as the leading disposal winner with 21 touches with Georgia Nanscawen also having a strong performance with 20 of her own.

Ashlea Melnikas was in the contest all day, finishing with eight tackles and five clearances.

The Bombers will now turn their attention to the Anzac Weekend clash with Collingwood at Victoria Park, this Saturday at 11:00am.
