Essendon's long-standing Commercial Partner Yakult has pledged $20,000 towards Challenge's cancer support programs.

A Major Event Partner of the club's annual Challenge Game, Yakult's significant contribution affirms their commitment to supporting Challenge, a non-profit organisation which provides vital daily support to children and families affected by cancer.

Yakult, set to celebrate its 30th anniversary in Australia in 2024, has deepened its roots in the Australian market with its popular fermented milk drink. Their partnership with Essendon has not only been about sports but also about giving back to the community.

Challenge is dedicated to supporting children and families dealing with cancer, offering free services 365 days a year without government funding. From diagnosis onward, they provide a wide range of assistance to ease the burden on families facing such challenging times.

Essendon players will be donning a specially designed guernsey featuring the Challenge logo and a yellow armband during the game, paying tribute to former player and cancer survivor Adam Ramanauskas. Saturday's match holds special significance as Essendon continues its tradition of raising awareness about childhood cancer since 2017.

All match-worn guernseys and boots from this game will be signed and auctioned off to raise funds for Challenge's noble cause. The aim is to raise $50,000, with the funds earmarked for purchasing a 12-seater bus to facilitate transportation for children and families dealing with cancer.

This initiative underscores the enduring partnership between Challenge and Essendon, spanning over 20 years. It showcases the power of sports to unite for a greater cause, bringing hope and support to those in need.
