Essendon will await the outcome of its Federal Court proceedings against ASADA following the completion of the trial on Wednesday.

Chairman Paul Little said he was pleased with the fair hearing over the last three days.

“We are not going to speculate on the outcome other then say that it was a very fair hearing,” Little said.

“Our legal team did exceptionally well and the outcome now Justice Middleton has reserved his opinion and we are not quiet sure how long it will take.

“This is terribly important as in our mind we have to be satisfied that the process was legal and that will be determined by the judge.”

Little said the focus of the playing group remained on this weekend’s clash against West Coast.

“The feedback is that we are just asking the players to get us into the finals,” he said.

“It is just a series of small obstacles we have in front of us and this is just another one.”

“We have tried to separate all of the time the playing group from this action.”

“At this point in time the judge has a lot in front of him so we need to respect that and wait to see what happens.”

Hird said he was appreciative of the hearing over the last three days.

“It is great to finally get a fair hearing and I want to thank Justice Middleton for that.”

Little said he would continue to work with AFL chief Gill McLachlan on building a strong relationship with the league.

“We have been trying for some time now to improve our relationship with the AFL and them with us,” Little said.

“I think Gill has a tough job to carry on that side of the relationship and we respect that so I imagine we would (speak to them again soon).”
