Essendon will hit the road for its pre-season campaign with games in Morwell and Western Sydney before returning home to play at Etihad Stadium as part of the 2015 NAB Challenge competition.

In a boost for all club members all Bombers fans that have signed up will be able to enter all three of Essendon's NAB Challenge matches for free.

"The great thing about the NAB cup is you get the opportunity to see the young guys ply their trade and push for a spot in senior selection," General Manager Football Operations Rob Kerr said.

"For the supporters that have bought their membership will get in for free and get to see some of the future coming through so that is a really attractive element of the whole competition."

The Bombers kick off their pre-season campaign against St Kilda in Morwell on Saturday March 7.

"Everyone accepts that around NAB Cup you do a bit of travel and is a particularly good opportunity to get out and take the game to our country fans," Kerr said.

"It gives all those Essendon supporters in that Gippsland region the chance to come and see the boys play live locally."

Kerr said the club was likely to field a vastly different squad for their second match against Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium.

"It is a six day break but when you factor he travel in we will probably have to fly to Sydney on the Thursday for the Friday game," he said.

"We won't be able to get out until the Saturday which makes it a two day trip and probably a little bit longer then you might prefer but that is the way it is.

"It's not too much of an issue and in terms of the playing group you will probably find there is a range of squad members between that first game and that second game."

The club's final hit out of the pre-season will have the tackle Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Friday 20 March.

"The good thing for us is that our games are reasonably close so it gives us a great chance to get into a rhythm by having a number of games close together."

"So hopefully the players can really be tuned up for the season proper."

"To get back to Etihad for that last game when we are traditionally starting to put our best team out there in preparation for round one."

"Playing at Etihad Stadium, where we have so many of our home games is ideal for us so it works out well for us."
