Dustin Fletcher has been named at full back for his 400^th game with Essendon.

The Bombers will take an unchanged line-up into the match against Richmond on Saturday night. 

“We didn’t have to make changes,” Essendon Coach James Hird said.

“When you have a ten goal win against another side, you obviously play reasonably well.

“Everyone has pulled up well and we were able to keep the same team which is positive.” 

Hird played in two premierships alongside Fletcher and said he admires the way the defender is always up for the challenge. 

“The way he competes week in, week out and hates getting beaten. 

“He’s obviously got a lot of talent, reads the ball – knows how to position himself. 

“He’s just a good person, a good steady person who looks after people.”

Tickets are almost sold out for the game that will not only honour Fletcher, but also celebrate the contribution indigenous players make to the game.

“It’s a great celebration there and the Dreamtime game is something that is very special to all of Australia,” Hird said.

“To Richmond, to Essendon fans, players, coaches and people around the club it’s a really important game and an important day.”
