Heath Hocking and David Myers moved a step closer to an AFL return on the weekend.

The pair played in the VFL with Myers getting 17 possessions and Hocking 15.

“Both got through excellently and pulled up without any soreness,” Club Doctor Bruce Reid said.

Michael Hurley will be monitored throughout the week as he looks to overcome a knee injury.

The key defender missed the clash against the Bulldogs after failing to pass a fitness test.

“Michael was a fair way off when it came to testing him on Friday,” Dr Reid said.

“He’s got a minor medial ligament in his knee.

“Hopefully he gets up this week.”

Dustin Fletcher is making progress as he battles an abdominal complaint.

The 400 game veteran has been sidelined since May but is stepping up his training this week.

“He’s starting to turn the corner so with a bit of luck we can get a few sessions in to him so we can’t start considering picking him again,” Dr Reid said.
