Shaun McKernan has been promoted to the senior list and is available for selection against Hawthorn this Saturday.

McKernan comes onto the senior list as replacement for Jordan Ridley who will miss at least the next eight weeks with a back injury.

The mobile ruckman/forward was one of the Dons best in the final JLT Community Series match against Geelong.

He collected 21 possessions, had 19 hit outs and kicked three goals (including one super goal) against the Cats.

McKernan’s performance was all the more valuable given Matthew Leuenberger went down in the first quarter with a hamstring injury.

McKernan has played 49 AFL games.
