Essendon VFL has recorded a 14 point win over Collingwood at Victoria Park.

Alex Boyse dominated in the forward line booting four goals for the Dons.

Boyse finished with 14 disposals, six marks and one tackle.

Brent Stanton was the major ball winner collecting 28 disposals.  He also took five marks, laid four tackles and kicked two goals.

The Pies looked impressive in the first quarter, racing to a 28 point lead.

The Bombers reduced the margin to 11 points at half time and remained in reach of the Magpies in the third.

In the final term the Dons booted five goals to Collingwood’s one, claiming a 14 point victory.

Eamonn Ogden and Brian Graham debuted for the Dons, with the pair producing promising performances.

Graham finished with 11 disposals and three marks whilst Ogden finished with eight disposals and three marks.

Jackson Merrett suffered a lower leg injury in the third term and did not return to the field. He will be further assessed this week.
