Lifetime Essendon supporter and leading Australian actor Lachy Hulme has called on the red and black to Don the Sash in 2018 and see the Bombers FLY UP.

Hulme has played many roles in his career, including Kerry Packer, but in the Bombers FLY UP campaign, the self-confessed Essendon tragic plays himself, urging fans to FLY UP and sign up this season.

“We are all a part of it, we all bleed red and black,” Hulme said.

“This is what we’ve all been waiting for and if we really want it, this could be our moment.”

“This game ain’t meant to be easy, we all know that, but we are going to meet the challenge together.

“Our vision is to be respected, inclusive and successful. That’s who we are and that’s what we stand for.

“We are the Mighty Bombers, it’s time to Don the Sash.”

Essendon passed the 60,000 member milestone in record time this week and is now looking to break through 70,000 members for the first time in the club’s history, after reaching 67,791 members in 2017.

Chief Marketing Officer Justin Rodski said it was great to have Hulme front the new campaign.

“Lachy is a huge Bombers fan,” Rodski said.

“He has been involved in the planning and creative from the very start and it has been great to have him front the campaign this year.”

“We actually filmed the scenes with Lachy in The Hangar on the night of Valentine’s Day, which he said was fitting because he loves the Bombers so much.

“His passion for the Club comes through in his performance and like everyone, he wants to see the Bombers FLY UP this season.

“We know there is a great sense of excitement about the season ahead and we hope this campaign captures that sentiment and connects with our fans to be a part of our journey this year and see the Bombers FLY UP.”
