Thousands of fans have joined in the fun and festivities of Essendon Football Club’s 2014 Family Day at the True Value Solar Centre this evening.

The pinnacle of the event was the presentation of the full playing list with their official 2014 guernseys, while Chairman Paul Little and Senior Coach Mark Thompson addressed the crowd of approximately 5000.

Captain Jobe Watson thanked the red and black supporters for their dedication and loyalty.

“We are thrilled with the turn out tonight, and we cannot thank our fans enough for their support, particularly in the last 12 months,” Watson said.

“We love running out on the field when we have 60,000 of our members behind us and we hope you all get to our games this year to support the boys.”

Proudly presented by Red Energy, fans were treated to autograph opportunities, live entertainment from band Highly Strung, kids’ zones with amusements and clinics and more.

For fans that could not make this evening’s event, there are many open training sessions at the True Value Solar Centre throughout March. Click here to view the training times and dates.

We will also have a ‘Super Saturday’ open training session on Saturday 5 April ahead of Essendon’s blockbuster clash against Carlton in Round 3.  Stay tuned for details.
