Versatile Bomber Cale Hooker has been nominated for the Coates Hire Goal of the Year.

Hooker received the nomination for launching a long bomb truly from well outside the 50-metre arch midway through the third term against Hawthorn on Saturday to help Essendon reclaim the lead.

Young Bomber Aaron Francis played a crucial role in the booming goal, laying a strong shepherd to help his experienced teammate find enough room to impressively send the ball through the goals.

The cracking goal was one of two for Hooker against the Hawks, and he spoke to Bomber TV after the game about his individual performance and the narrow loss.

Hooker is joined by Swan Tom McCartin and Lion Hugh McLuggage in the nominations this week, and you can vote for him to remain in the running for the award below.
