Essendon Coach John Worsfold has urged the Club’s fans to continue to show their support throughout the second half of the season.

The Bombers are entering the final stages of one of its most challenging periods.

One of the few constants during recent seasons has been the fans resilience, with membership numbers remaining strong.

“We want our fans to stick with us,” Worsfold said after the Bombers match against GWS.

“Our players are making a commitment to play out the year and learn and grow and keep showing some of the excitement that we showed tonight.

“We’d love our fans to continue to be part of it.

“There is potentially some big stuff that can happen in the second half of the year.

“We’re striving for more wins and we’ll keep doing that.

“If our fans are here for our next win they will really embrace it and love it.

“Things have been tough, tough for everyone and tough for our fans and we understand that.

“We’re going to strive to give them some exciting times ahead.”

Essendon travels to Perth to take on West Coast in ten days time.

“It doesn’t feel like we’ve got a bye weekend because we’ll train next weekend on Saturday and be on the plane on Wednesday getting ready to go,” Worsfold said.

“We’ll just use it as a long preparation as opposed to a bye.

“We had nine days leading into this game and 11 leading into West Coast.

“The players – we tried to freshen them up over this last nine day period, we’ll try to freshen them up over this (period).”

The Bombers play seven of their final eight games in Melbourne.
