Essendon has arrived in Perth ahead of its final NAB Challenge match against West Coast tomorrow.

The Bombers have picked their strongest squad of the pre-season, welcoming back a host of senior players including Brendon Goddard, Zach Merrett and Joe Daniher.

After enduring hot conditions last week against the Cats in Shepparton, the Bombers will get a taste of the Perth heat with the mercury tipped to reach 38 degrees.

The AFL has enacted the heat policy for the match with quarters reduced, breaks extended and clubs given the option of playing an extra two players on the bench.

“Beautiful conditions, I think last week we played in 40 degrees so it’ll be a bit cooler which is nice,” midfielder Adam Cooney joked.

“Conditioning wise it’s really good for us.

“After a disappointing first half (last week), I thought we ran the game out well.

“It just goes to show that we’re pretty fit, so hopefully we can do the same tomorrow.”

The Brownlow medal winner was the Bombers leading possession winner against Geelong last week.

Cooney underwent ankle surgery towards the end of last season.

“I’ve had plenty of time to recover from that,” he said.

“It’s been a slow build before Christmas and then the last six to seven weeks I’ve been back in full training.

“It’s been a good build and I’m feeling pretty fit.“

Like the Bombers, the Eagles have selected a strong side for the game.

“It’s a really good test for us,” Cooney said.

“Last week we played a really inexperienced side against a pretty experienced Geelong side.

“It was probably the opposite against Carlton.  So this is a really good test to see where we’re at as a group."
