It was tough start on the road for the Bombers, but there were plenty of positive signs for AFL Fantasy coaches.

David Zaharakis (MID, $436,000) was outstanding, gathering a team-high 33 disposals and kicking two goals to lead the Fantasy scores for Essendon with 125 points. Not far behind was dual position wonder Zach Merrett (FWD/MID, $511,000) with 119 and former Cat James Kelly (MID, $464,000) racked up 118 and may be in line for a position addition come round six after spending time down back.

The trio enjoyed price increases in round one.

Gaining momentum as the game went on, Mathew Stokes (FWD/MID, $413,000) added $19K in value but it was our first round draft pick that experienced the biggest price increase. 97 points on debut for Darcy Parish (MID, $282,000) was an outstanding return. His 25 disposals, five marks and six tackles helped him to a $22K increase.

It’s not too late to jump on Parish if you don’t have him in your midfield. His breakeven is just 16 points, meaning that is all he has to score to increase in value next round.

Matt Dea (DEF, $188,000) pleased the 29 per cent of coaches who started him. His return of 72 points in his first game donning the sash helped him to an $18K price rise and the lowest breakeven this week of all Bombers with 4.

The two most popular Bombers, Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti (DEF/FWD, $164,000) and Mitch Brown (DEF/FWD, $201,000) scored 36 and 52 to gain $2K and $7K respectively. Look out for an improved output from the duo who appear in more than 35 per of teams this week against Melbourne.
