Warnie from The Traders, AFL.com.au’s NAB AFL Fantasy experts, will be taking a look at the Bombers each week exclusive to essendonfc.com.au.

LAST WEEK

Disappointingly, the Tigers were too good for the Bombers winning the Dreamtime at the G game by 13 points and narrowly taking the Fantasy points 1494-1491.

Only one Essendon player recorded a Fantasy ton and that was Brendon Goddard (104) who managed to rack up 27 disposals and 10 marks.

Trav Colyer (92) had his best score of the year while Dyson Heppell (91) was the only other player to score over 90 for the Dons.

It looks like Michael Hibberd (87) is back and if you need a defender, get him now as his $4K price increase will be a bit more next week with a relatively low breakeven of 65.

Captain Jobe Watson (57) struggled through the game with a mystery injury while milestone man Dustin Fletcher (36) was subbed out of his 400th game and iced up.

TOP 5 SCORERS V RICHMOND

  • 104 – Brendon Goddard (FWD/MID, $560,000)
  • 92 – Travis Colyer (FWD/MID, $382,000)
  • 91 – Dyson Heppell (MID, $556,000)
  • 88 – Brent Stanton (MID, $533,000)
  • 87 – Ben Howlett (FWD/MID, $440,000)
    87 – Michael Hibberd (DEF, $418,000)

ON THE RADAR

Hibberd is the Don to bring in this week if you haven’t already, but other than Pig, the cupboard is a little bare.

Heppell, Watson and Stanton have been a little down of late – which could make them upgrade targets over the next few weeks at a low price.

Keep an eye out for Elliott Kavanagh (MID, $142,000) as a potential downgrade option for your bench. He was outstanding in the VFL on the weekend as was Alex Browne (DEF, $142,000).

WHAT’S COMING UP

The Bombers take on Geelong in round 10. The Cats are coming off a six-day break and a trip to Perth, so hopefully that is one thing in Essendon’s favour.

Last time the two sides met, Heppell top scored with 152 points. The midfielder racked up 40 disposals, six marks and seven tackles in an awesome effort back in round 15 last season. David Zaharakis also found plenty of the ball with 25 touches and 103 points. Hopefully the FWD/MID returns this week and posts some big Fantasy numbers again.

Saturday night’s game against the Cats is an AFL Fantasy Match Day competition. Pick your team of seven players at http://fantasy.afl.com.au or via the app for your chance to win $10,000 in the quickest and easiest Fantasy game to play.
