A starring performance against Greater Western Sydney on Saturday night is just part of a continual development process for young forward Joe Daniher.

Daniher played one of his best games of the season against the Giants finishing with nine marks and three goals.

The 20-year-old said he was working hard on continuing to improve the consistency of his performance.

“We have trained a lot in the last two or three weeks and I feel like I am getting some improvement that I want to see,” Daniher said.

“My week to week consistency is something that is fluctuating and I am looking to improve that.”

Coach Mark Thompson was impressed with the performance from the Bombers young forward.

“It is so exciting to see someone with a massive future and that is Joe,” Thompson said.

“He is only in his second year and they are usually tapering off by now if you have played them early.

“He is not doing that, he is still strong as a bull with an appetite to train and to play.”

Daniher knows what he has to improve and points out his goal kicking as a key pillar to a more consistent performance.

“It was a bit wayward but it is something that I am working on quiet fiercely with the coaches,” he said.

“We are seeing some better results but I know that is a big part of my game that I need to improve.”

The young forward praised the performance of teammate David Zaharakis who finished the game with 34 possessions and two goals.

“Zacka has been great in the last month, his training has been outstanding and he is showing some great leadership,” Daniher said.

“For the young players in the team like myself we take a lot out of Zacka and his leadership so it is really good to see.”

Daniher said he was excited about facing Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday afternoon as the team looked to win their third game in a row.

“I would love to play the Demons on the MCG, there is no better place to play football,” he said.

“They have been really good in the last couple of weeks so it will be a really tough contest for us.”
