Veteran defender Dustin Fletcher is expected to be fit to line up against Melbourne on Sunday despite being subbed out of Saturday night’s win over Greater Western Sydney.

The 39-year-old rolled his ankle and was substituted out of the game during the third quarter.

Club doctor Bruce Reid said he anticipated Fletcher would take his place in the side to face Melbourne.

“He just rolled his ankle, but we subbed him. We do expect him to play (this weekend) though,” Reid said.

Michael Hurley is also likely to bolster the line up after a two-week lay off with minor back spasms.

“Michael was close last week but because he had a back injury that was a bit irritable we decided we would give him an extra week,” Reid said.

“He had a good session on the weekend and will train today.”

Jason Winderlich is also expected to return to the side after overcoming an illness that kept him out of Saturday night’s clash against the Giants.

“Jason was quite sick, he was unwell for five days but it was just a straight illness so he will be fine,” Reid said.

Jackson Merrett has also proven he is ready to return from a broken finger and will be available for selection.

Marty Gleeson (quad) and Tayte Pears (calf) are both a chance to return but will need to prove their fitness on the training track throughout the week.

“Marty and Tayte will either play this week or next week depending on whether they get through everything required this week.”
