Essendon Football Club will enter this year's National Draft with two live selections following Thursday afternoon’s second list lodgement.

With only two positions remaining on the club's senior list the Bombers will use selections 26 and 55 to recruit new draftees.

List manager Adrian Dodoro said the club’s recruiting team was continuing its hard work in preparation for next Thursday night on the Gold Coast.

“The plan at the moment is that we are finalising all the details and we are finalising the list we have of potential draftees,” Dodoro said.

“We are continuing to make our last minute assessments on some players as part of that process.”

Dodoro said it was important his team tried to get the best read on how the draft would play out over the course of thenext week.

“All the work is basically done so it is now trying to gain some intellectual property to work out where the order sits with other clubs,” he said.

“Over the next few days we will be speaking to managers, players and will do some last minute medicals with some boys.”

Dodoro said he was confident in the ability to recruit quality players despite the club only having two live selections in the draft.

“Only having two picks at 26 and 55 presents challenges but we are looking forward to it,” he said.

“We will have two live picks at the national draft, Lachie Dalgleish will be our third draftee as our elevated rookie and we will then have two rookies being selected in the rookie draft.”

The rookie draft will be held on November 27.
