Essendon will have six players attend the Brownlow Medal Evening at Crown Palladium on Monday night.

Jobe Watson, David Zaharakis, Dyson Heppell, Michael Hibberd, Tom Bellchambers and Cale Hooker have all been invited to attend the prestigious ceremony.

Reigning Brownlow Medallist Jobe Watson will have a special role on the evening, handing over the medal to the player crowned this year’s best and fairest winner.

The Brownlow Medal is the leading individual award in the competition, which has been awarded since 1924.

Voting for the Brownlow Medal is conducted by field umpires, immediately after each home-and-away match, with three votes awarded for the player they believed to have been the best on the ground, two votes for the second best player and one vote for the third best player on the day, in their opinion.

The 2013 Brownlow Medal Vote Count will be telecast live on Fox Footy from 6.30pm and Channel Seven from 8.15pm. Red Carpet Arrivals will be aired on Fox Footy from 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Channel Seven. (All times in AEST).
