Essendon fans make sure you get to Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon to show your support for captain Jobe Watson as he returns home against Port Adelaide.

We are calling on all Bomber fans to make your voice heard and ‘cheer the champ’ each time our skipper goes near the ball.

Paint the stadium red and black to show your support for the team as they return for their first game in Melbourne in nearly a month.

Take this opportunity to create a special atmosphere for the captain as he drives the team home in the second half of the season.

Watson has thanked the members for their support this season as the club celebrates passing 55,000 members.

“Hearing the roar of the Bomber army and seeing the sea of red and black in the stands helps the team and myself take our game to the next level,” Watson said.

“The support we have received from the fans over the last few months has been phenomenal so thank you for playing your part.”

Use the hashtag #cheerthechamp on twitter to show your support for Jobe.

The club is also urging Bomber fans to give 150 gamer AngusMonfries the respect he deserves in his first match against the Bombers sinceleaving last year.
