Essendon has flown injured duo Nathan Lovett-Murray and Leroy Jetta interstate to consult a specialist about on-going groin problems. Lovett-Murray is yet to play a game this season while Jetta has struggled to shake a groin injury he sustained against St Kilda in Round 4.

""In the short-term they won’t require surgery but we will be taking a different approach to the way we go about treating them,"" Essendon high performance manager John Quinn said today.

""Nathan had a groin strain and it recurred when we stepped up his training. We just wanted to get an opinion from someone else to ensure we have everything covered as we try to get him back to full fitness.

""Leroy just had some soreness there and being a young player it is very important we do the right thing by him to ensure it doesn’t develop into anything more significant such as osteitis pubis.

""With a different approach to their rehabilitation, the best case scenario would be that both were right to go in the next couple of weeks. Until we implement that approach and push them a bit harder it is difficult to say if it will be any longer than that.""

The Bombers will be keen to get both back as soon as possible. Jetta had made a very promising start to his career and the injection of his speed perfectly complimented Alwyn Davey and was creating some real midfield pressure for opposition sides.

Lovett-Murray’s rebound off half-back has also been missed this season. His return across half back would give the Bombers some real speed out of defence and perfectly compliment Adam McPhee who showed a terrific return to form last weekend.
