Scott Gumbleon booted four goals in Essendon’s disappointing 29 point loss to Werribee at Avalon Oval on Saturday afternoon.

In fine conditions for football Gumbleton showed his power overhead taking a number of strong marks and kicking well to continue to push his claims for a senior recall.

The Bombers burst out of the blocks taking a 26-point lead into the main change before Werribee surged in the third quarter.

Leading by just ten points at three quarter time Werribee came out all guns blazing finishing off a strong second half performance to run out convincing winners.

Dylan Van Unen played well across half back with David Hille impressing through the ruck.

Travis Colyer got plenty of the ball for the Bombers through the midfield but it was a second half to forget for the red and black as the
dominance of Werribee around the contest couldn’t be combatted.
