The Match Review Panel has charged Ben Howlett with 'engaging in rough conduct' following the Bombers match against Adelaide.

The midfielder was penalised during the game after applying a tackle on Crows defender Luke Brown.

Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti kicked a goal after the ball spilled following Howlett's tackle.

But play was called back and a free kick awarded to the Crows.

Howlett has now been offered a $1000 sanction by the MRP.

Here is the official finding of the Match Review Panel:

Ben Howlett, Essendon, has been charged with engaging in rough conduct against Luke Brown, Adelaide Crows, during the fourth quarter of the Round 21 match between Essendon and the Adelaide Crows, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday August 12, 2017.

In summary, he can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Adelaide Crows Football Club, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head.
