Essendon could unveil up to three more new recruits in its match against Geelong on Saturday in Shepparton.

Fresh from Darcy Parish’s impressive showing last week, Alex Morgan has been named in the Bombers squad for the clash with the Cats.

Morgan played in the Oakleigh Chargers premiership side last year before being selected by the Bombers in last November’s National Draft.

“Alex is quite a strong bodied player,” Essendon Coach John Worsfold said.

“He’s really quick and kicks the ball well, so we’re really keen to see him get the ball in his hands a few times and watch him run and carry it and deliver the ball well.”

Former Richmond player Matt Dea and All-Australian ruckman Mark Jamar are the other new faces in the squad.

Adam Cooney, Mark Baguley, Jayden Laverde and Patrick Ambrose are also in line for their first games of the NAB Challenge.

Ryan Crowley, Parish, Brendon Goddard and Joe Daniher will sit out.

Temperatures are expected to reach the mid 30’s but Worsfold isn’t fazed.

“The quarters will be shortened a little bit and the players will get extra breaks,” Worsfold said.

“We’re actually pretty pleased it will be quite hot because it’ll be a good conditioning workout for us.”
