Ryan Crowley hasn’t been at the Bombers very long, but it’s only taken a short time for the young players on the list to capture the former Fremantle midfielder’s attention.

One player Crowley has spent extra time with is Darcy Parish with the pair pushing each on the training track.

“We’ve got such exciting guys like Darcy Parish who has just been fantastic since I’ve been at the Club,” Crowley told Channel Nine’s The Footy Show.

“I’ve been doing a lot of one on one work with him in the last few weeks and he’s going to be an absolute ripper.”

Crowley picked up 13 possessions and kicked a goal in his debut for the Bombers against Gold Coast.

Parish collected 25 and will play his first home game at the MCG this Saturday.  Click here for tickets.

Despite the loss to the Suns, Crowley said there is reason for supporters to be buoyant about what lies ahead.

“Zach Merrett, Joe Daniher – there is a lot for Essendon supporters to be excited about,” Crowley said.

“Without doubt it’s going to be a tough year, we’re the first guys to realise that.

“I feel like we’re improving with every training session we have together.”

Crowley is one of ten new players added over the last two months.

The group boasts six premiership medals, All-Australians and, in Crowley’s case, a Grand Final appearance.

He says that knowledge can help develop the rest of the playing list.

“The main bulk of the group has only been together since February,” Crowley said.

“I feel like we can really fast track that with our group because we’ve brought in some older guys that have been in some different systems.”
