Essendon has concluded its AFL Australia Post Community Camp throughout regional Victoria.
Players hosted clinics, visited schools and hospitals and spent time with local communities in Kyabram and Rochester.
The Community Camp lays the platform for the Powercor Country Festival that will take place later this year.
“We are extremely passionate as a Football Club about regional Victoria and regional Australia,” Essendon Chief Executive Xavier Campbell said.
“With our ‘Country Game’, alongside Powercor and the Geelong Football Club – two key objectives are raising awareness for those that have made a massive contribution to football but more broadly raising awareness for the unique challenges that people from regional areas face.”
The Bombers host Geelong in the second instalment of the ‘Country Game’ in round eight on Saturday May 13th at the MCG.
