Essendon young gun Dyson Heppell has described his AFL debut as an amazing experience he will never forget.
Heppell played an important role across half back in the Bombers Round 1 win against the Western Bulldogs and said the intensity was a big step up from the NAB Cup.
“It as an amazing experience and I loved every minute out there,” Heppell told BomberTV in the rooms after the game.
“Playing on the likes of Adam Cooney and Daniel Giansiracusa and these types of players was just an amazing experience.”
Heppell, taken with the Bombers first selection (overall pick 8) in the 2010 AFL national draft, said the entire team played their role in the win.
“The team has really improved this year and that’s what we’ve got to keep doing so hopefully we can back it up this week,” Heppell said.
