Top NBA Draft prospect Dante Exum visited the True Value Solar Centre on Friday afternoon as he prepares to set off on his basketball dream in the United States.

Exum a passionate Essendon fan went on a tour of the club’s new facility before meeting the playing group including captain Jobe Watson.

The 18-year-old has nominated for the NBA Draft in June where most experts expect him to be drafted in the top five.

“I have always been an Essendon supporter and when my brother was born in 1993 they won a premiership so since I was born in 1995 I have always been an Essendon supporter,” Exum said.

“These are great facilities, I haven’t seen anything like them before and it is good to see that a sport like football is getting great facilities like these.”

Exum was presented with a personalized guernsey from fellow young gun Joe Daniher before the pair had a shoot around on the basketball court.

Daniher said it was exciting to meet one of Australia’s brightest up and coming prospects.

“It is a big thing for me watching guys in other sports, especially young people chasing their dreams,” Daniher said.

“Like all professional sportsman we have a lot in common and we are both striving for a goal so it will be interesting to follow him and see how he goes.”

“I don’t have an NBA team yet so wherever Dante goes I will be supporting.”
